We know how influencer marketing agencies run.
Most accountants treat every business the same. We work only with agencies, so we already understand your model before you explain it.
Talent payments distort revenue and margin.
When creator fees run through your books, revenue inflates and margin gets hidden. We separate talent cost from your real earnings.
International creators and VAT complexity.
Paying talent abroad, place-of-supply, withholding questions. We keep it compliant and efficient.
Fast, high-volume payments.
Lots of creators, lots of payments. We keep bookkeeping and cash crystal clear so nothing slips.
Why influencer marketing agencies
need a specialist.
A generalist keeps you compliant. A specialist makes the numbers work as hard as you do.
Proactive tax planning.
Agency income is rarely smooth. We plan ahead across the year so influencer marketing agencies are not overpaying tax or scrambling at year end.
Financial strategy that scales.
Payroll, freelancers, pricing and margin. We help you grow without the profitability quietly slipping away underneath you.
Real-time agency insight.
Monthly management accounts and fractional CFO support, so you always know your margin, your runway and your next move.
One system. Two levels. Get to the end game.
The foundation keeps your books clean, your tax planned and your numbers understood. The next level turns them into growth: sharper pricing, stronger margins, cash you can forecast. Run both, and exit planning becomes the end game: a buyer-ready business that’s yours to sell at full value. Sidekick gets you there, from day one.
The
foundation.
Bookkeeping, tax planning, accounts, VAT and management reports done properly, on time, in plain English.
The
next level.
Financial infrastructure, strategic clarity and hands-on advisory built specifically for agencies. We install the systems, deliver the insight, and stay on it.
Both levels build towards the same destination: a business that’s commercially attractive and buyer-ready, whether you sell in 1 year or 5. We help you build towards it from day one, so when the offer comes, you keep more of it.
When the numbers are clean and the strategy is right, influencer marketing agencies grow with confidence. That is the work.
Results that speak for themselves.
Here’s what changed when we built the financial layer underneath, in the numbers and in their words.

Rayhaan is brilliant. Highly responsive & up for tackling complex challenges. We had an unreasonably tricky business model which he rose to the challenge of handling. I feel confident in our numbers with his expertise at hand.

Everybody wants clarity. My stress levels have decreased and I'm able to operate at a higher level, the biz is performing much better as a result.

What influencer marketing agencies ask us.
Do creator payments count as my influencer agency's revenue?
Only when you contract as principal, buying the creator's services in the agency's name and billing the client for the package. Then talent fees sit in your turnover and must be stripped out before you judge margin, because a £1m turnover agency paying £700,000 to creators is a £300,000 business. If you act purely as the client's agent, with talent contracts in the client's name, only your commission is revenue. The structure drives your VAT position too, so decide it deliberately rather than by accident.
Should influencers be paid as contractors or employees?
Creators are almost always self-employed businesses: they have many clients, own their channels and control how they make content, so they invoice you and handle their own tax. The exceptions are worth watching: a creator working like a member of staff, exclusive, directed and on set hours, drifts towards employment, and one billing through their own limited company brings IR35 into view. Keep contracts per campaign and deliverable-based, and the position usually stays clean.
How do I handle payments to creators outside the UK?
There is no UK payroll to run, but three things need attention. Some countries apply withholding taxes to cross-border payments, so check before agreeing net fees; paying in dollars or euros creates exchange differences your bookkeeping has to capture; and services bought from overseas creators usually land on your UK VAT return under the reverse charge. None of it is difficult once a process exists, but ad hoc international payments are where influencer agency books usually unravel.
How are gifted products and barter deals with creators taxed?
Barter is still a transaction: if a creator delivers content in exchange for product, both sides account for it at market value, including VAT where the parties are registered. Product gifted with a genuine expectation of coverage is part of the deal price rather than a freebie, and creators are taxable on it as trading income. Keep a record of what was gifted, to whom and at what value, because campaigns built on product have a habit of staying invisible in the books until HMRC asks.
What margin should an influencer marketing agency make?
Judge it on fee income: your management fees and commissions, with talent budgets stripped out of both revenue and costs. On that basis the healthy benchmarks match other lean agencies, a gross margin of 70% or better where delivery flexes with freelancers, and net margin comfortably above the 10% survival line. Agencies that price as a thin percentage on top of talent cost usually find the margin never covers the work; charge for the strategy and the management, not just the pass-through.
